Zuzifa Buthelezi

Zuzifa started his career at Premier Group as a Marketing trainee manager. His focus was to market the Iwisa brand across Soweto and surrounding townships, utilising the massive Kaizer Chiefs brand.

He joined Corobrik as National Contracts Manager and five years later transferred to Supervision Food Services (a subsidiary of Tongaat Hulett Group) as Business Development Director, and later became Executive Director on the Board.

In 1994, Supervision Food became the first large food company to conclude a BEE deal with Kagiso Trust and Khulani. After 16 years, as Kagiso & Khulani sold their shares and exited the business, Zuzi was involved in selecting the new shareholder, Thebe Investments who, to date, owns a 51% stake in Compass Group SA.

As the company continued to evolve and was later bought by Compass Group Plc, Zuzi served in strategic accounts heading up Marketing, Sales and Business Development.In 2013, he pursued other interests and is now an investor/ entrepreneur with diverse interests, inter-alia, Renewable Energy, Mining, Gaming, Farming and Property. 

He has, and still serves on a number of Boards, including Metropolitan Life, Compass Group SA, Specialised Exhibitions (current chair), Kingdom Communications (as chair and shareholder), National Association Of Catering Employers-NACE (as Chair), Khulani Holdings(as Chair), Shaka Industries (Pty) Ltd (as Shareholder and Chair), Umoja Africa Pty Ltd (as Shareholder), Motswiri Safari Lodge in Madikwe (as Shareholder), Peermont Global KZN (as Shareholder) and more recently, serves as Chair of Lusitania Distributors.
